  The Labrador ethos of “Families Growing Together in Sport” rang strongly on the weekend with the Price brothers, Curtis and Damien bagging seven goals between them.On Saturday in BHL 2 Damien scored 3 goals while brother Curtis netted 2, making up the full complement of goals in the 5-1 win over QUT. Backing up on Sunday in Gold Coast Division 2, Damien collected another 2 goals in the team’s 3-2 loss to Mudgeeraba.
With 7 goals between them for the weekend the Price brothers have set a healthy act to follow in coming rounds.
  Labrador Tigerstix BHL1 kicked off the 2010 Brisbane Hockey League competition in style beating QUT 8-2. In response to an early first goal to QUT, Labrador scored two goals in quick succession in the 13th and 17th minutes to Kane Hancock and Kyle Gildea respectively to take control of the game.Matt Harmon scored from two penalty corners before Mark Harris netted two impressive field goals following half time. The game was sealed by two final goals; one in the 68th minute to Dean Murphy and the other to Andrew Ward in the 69th minute from a penalty corner.
In BHL 2 the Tigerstix also recorded a first round win defeating QUT 5-1.
Next Saturday Labrador take on Redcliffe, the 2009 BHL1 runner’s up, on their home turf.
  With 34 teams playing this year, training space is understandably crowded. Part of the fees paid by all players is a training levy and helps pay for the ongoing maintenance of the turf.Personal practice during training times is strictly NOT PERMITTED. Please DO NOT train outside your allocated training times, and please DO NOT ask coaches for permission to do so.
  The 7th Pan Pacific Masters Games will be held from 6 to 14 November 2010 on the Gold Coast. There will be 34 sports on the program, with more than 10,000 people from all over the world expected to participate.Hockey will again feature among the sports.
Competition Dates:
• Sunday 7 – Saturday 13 November
Age Requirements:
• Age is determined as at 31 December 2010 by the youngest player in the team
• Minimum age for competition is 30yrs
Age Groups:
• Women: 30+, 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+
• Men: 30+, 40+, 50+
Participants Fees:
• Sport Fees: $75 per player per team
• Games Fee: $95 ($20 late fee applies after 3 September)
• All online entries will receive a $5 discount

 Just a reminder that Good Sports are offering to provide RSA courses at the unusually low cost of $45 for our club members (usually about $85). If we can get a group of 8 or more, they will provide the course at our Clubhouse commencing about 5.30pm (for a 6pm start) in the evening, and taking approximately 4 hours.
It is now a requirement that people serving at the bar hold a current RSA certificate. RSA certificates remain valid for approx 2 years, so if you have not done one in the last 2 years, you may be interested?
