  The Men’s Division 2 rematch between Labrador Gold and Labrador Black delivered plenty of goals and a result reversal. On this occasion the young “Black” legs outlasted the old “Gold” heads to the tune of 6-3.Quickly out of the blocks for an early lead of 3-0, Gold fought back to get within one, but two late goals to Black saw them through for a well-deserved win, and fortifying their position in the top four.

 And this isn’t referring to the quality of the BBQ.
In senior hockey Labrador suffered a rare wipeout day on Saturday, competing in six games for six losses.
With the Tigerstix BHL1 side managing to snatch a loss from the jaws of success for the second successive game (see story below) the day wasn’t any better elsewhere.
In Men’s Division 3 Labrador Gold went down 3-2 to Nerang after leading at half-time, and Labrador Teal were soundly defeated by the well-performing Mudgeeraba 6-2.

  The next home game of the season for Labrador’s BHL teams is this coming Saturday in what promises to be a great afternoon of hockey against Pine Rivers St Andrews.With both teams coming off last round losses there will be plenty at stake to stay in touch with the competition leaders. The game will also see the first home game appearance of Brent Livermore for 2010.

  The much awaited 2009 Grand Final rematch between Men’s Division 1 arch rivals Labrador and Capri produced an identical result to last year’s decider. Despite being somewhat undermanned the Labrador side blasted 4 goals into the net to continue their domination of the competition,In what was sometimes a fiery encounter last year’s premiers recorded their second win from as many matches.
